Okay, let's get things started!
Day 1: Singapore - Haneda - Osaka
This was kind of a shitty thing b/c half the day was gone already. We didn't even get to see any of Osaka; we went straight to Kyoto wtf. 1:50AM flight from Singapore to Haneda int airport (7 hour flight) then we took an one hour domestic flight to Osaka's airport.
When we were landing to Haneda, I saw Mt. Fuji!!! Apparently it's visible from Tokyo on a clear day, and I spotted it when I squinted a little. Quite cool if you ask me!! Here's my departure ticket... and a shot of the sky outside (sun just came up bout 10 minutes ago) in the plane!
Mt. Fuji!!!
Oh and I saw this on the flight. In direct translation it means two things: Very mouth, and unusual exit. Japanese translations are weird.
Here's the meal I had on the plane. Did you know that your sense of taste drops by 30% in flight or something?
Peeing is complicated in Japan... (Haneda airport)
Ok then transfer flight to Osaka, waited like 40 mins at the airport for the bus to come wtf? Also, they sell cigarettes in vending machines haha so cool!!
Had bento on the bus while heading towards Kyoto to go to Kiyomizu Temple. It was a very pretty bento box. Oh, but the bento was cold '^' sad. Realized that the photo was slightly shaky but eh, what to do right. Uploaded already.
We went to Kiyomizu Temple and they have a fountain (natural) where a stream flows down from the mountain (which splits into 3 streams) and (in sequence) the streams represent: health, wealth and beauty. I chose wealth and beauty HAHA. The locals joke that the men should drink health and wealth and the women should drink health and beauty, since the men are the breadwinners anyways. (Feminists don't kill me plz)
There's me drinking from the fountain... And they had really pretty autumn leaves even though it was already winter time. I took a picture of some on the floor heh.
And then we left the temple to go look at the street shops outside the temple! Correct me if I'm wrong but it's omiyake or something.
I had some black sesame honey soft serve, which was so good omg. Good thing about eating ice cream in cold weather is that it doesn't melt as fast, though it does make you a little more colder. And eating ice cream with gloves is never really that fun.
Abby heard my voice (which was a little dry due to the cold weather) on my snapchat video and she said that I sounded like a whale already still eat ice cream HAHAH bitch. It started snowing shortly after I took this photo and my mom and I had to run back to the bus... it was so cold and we had snow in our hair. It was what we came to Japan for anyways: snow. Glad to see it on the very first day. Can you see it?
We then headed towards a BBQ joint to have dinner. It was mediocre, but they had a lot of things there... like sushi, desserts case, a candy floss machine (I had fun with it), self cooked udon, and of course meat. What's BBQ without some good meat right?
LOOK THERE'S QOO WHITE GRAPE EVERYWHERE Japan is sort of a heaven for me hehe
We then went to stay in a hotel in Kyoto (thank god they had WiFi there) heh, it wasn't bad. Quite spacious but rather dark in the room, the lighting sucked. Fun fact about Japan: the toilets in the hotels are sort of 'earthquake' proof. It's made up of what errr I think just rubber? No tiles (the tiles aren't marble), no cement. So if you're there (touch wood) and a serious earthquake occurs, hide in the toilet! Plus there's water in the toilet too.
Day 2: Gifu Region - Gifu Castle - Gotemba Premium Outlets
We woke up and took this cable car thing up onto a small mountain and like climbed to the top. They have this squirrel village thing where you can go in and feed squirrels omg but right I thought it was winter and squirrels were all hibernating and whatnot...
HAHA OH THIS DOG WAS BARKING AND THE LADY CARRYING HIM WAS LIKE "urusai" and I started giggling and she laughed with me. Urusai means shut up in Japanese. So cute wtf.
BUNNY!
Hello squirrels. Click on image to enlarge, thanks.
My instagram has this photo but this is the original one. It's gorgeous, the mist was natural.
Mom says I have a hobby of taking pics of other people's dogs' butts. Phew, what a mouthful. But what choice do I have right they usually are walking past me ok -_-
The entire fam going down the mountain.
aw yeah my kind of HEAVEN #whitegirlanya
gr8 scenery
The fam eating...
This was the lunch heh it was nice but I'm now so SICK of tempura. I'm terrified of it wtf. After this we then headed to Gotemba Premium Outlets to do some shopping.
OH MY GOD DAT ASS (it was looking longingly at the owner hoping for sum McDonalds)
Mt. Fuji in it's full glory, close up.
Nike Factory Outlet...
Haha unglam selfie in a shop x
We then left to go to our hotel for the night - it was a traditional one where it was a tatami room.
Then there's ME in their traditional onsen robes! I look bad, I know. HAHA
Here's the daily dinner affair. (The rice was so good!)
Day 3: Oshino Hakkai - Tokyo - Nissin Cup Noodle Museum
(Click to enlarge to read about Oshino Hakkai)
The unclear pond didn't have much but there was this lone ducky HAHA.
Man, those grapes are huge... Apparently they're well known for it in Japan.
THE ICE CREAM WAS SO GOOD OMG GRAPE
You can read about Oshino Hakkai and it's origins here: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6915.html
We then went to the Fuji Visitor Museum where we learnt about how Mt. Fuji was formed and apparently there are 4 volcanoes into Mt. Fuji WTF. It's also due to erupt in 2-3 years time I heard, so please, if you want to go to Japan please take this chance and go before Fuji wrecks Tokyo.
After that we went to Lake Kawaguchi to have lunch and we did some shopping. Here's this super cute cuttlefish packaging HAHA
After lunch we went straight towards Tokyo to the Nissin Cup Noodle museum! We made our own :D In the photo below you can obviously see which one is mine right... (hashtag)
They sealed our cup noodles and we got to choose what soup base we wanted, what noodles we wanted, and all the ingredients! (4 ingredients but ya to our discretion) Yep here are a couple of pics from Instagram below! Afterwards we just left to have dinner and checked in to our hotel to rest up.
Okay here's everything for day 1-3, hope you've enjoyed it! Part 2 will be coming soon. Promise! Hope you had a great new year's. I'll also be blogging about my countdown experience (a short post I guess) this year at Siloso!
