LoL World Championships Group Stages, S.E.A Aquarium & TWO Movie Reviews!

HELLO! I know I haven't written in a while - the laziness has gotten to me, I'll admit that. But today I return with more content from my holidays! Recently I've gone to a few events and it's been nothing but full of fun and excitement for me. Also, I have red hair now if you don't know. If you've seen me recently or paid attention to my Instagram posts/ have me added on Snapchat, you'd see just how red it is. Shockingly red. I look like Katarina Du Couteau or Ariel, both of which I super adore.

Okay, enough jabbering. Let the content start!!

So on the 25th of September, I went for the group stages of the World Championship for my favourite game: League of Legends. I remember being SO excited, because for one the live atmosphere was AMAZING and I got to see some of the best teams in the world battle it out for a place in the Quarterfinals. There was the Brazilian wildcard team, Kabum, the American teams Cloud 9 and LMQ, the China team OMG, the Korean teams, Najin White Shield and Samsung Blue, and the European teams, Fnatic and Alliance.

It was MEGA fun because it was the first time that I managed to witness a League event LIVE and that means a lot to me. Kinda like watching a concert of your favourite idols - just that this is probably more adrenaline spiked than concerts. I may be wrong, but whatever, seeing them is like a super cool gift that I'm really grateful to Riot for.

I went home happy but down with a fever. I guess you could say I was feeling pretty shitty at the end of the day BUT it was worth it. So worth it. I'M SO HAPPY!!! *SCREAMS*

Okay. Calm down Val. FIRST MOVIE REVIEW OF THIS POST!

The Maze Runner. Okay I admit to being the kind of person that insists on reading books before watching the movie so that I can see how much the movie deviates from the original storyline. Most of the time, I'm usually unimpressed, e.g. The Hunger Games and Divergent. But for this? Kudos to the scriptwriter, who saved a lot of time by changing up the script to something simpler to understand, and made the movie move a lot faster than the book.

Frankly the book was rather draggy and I felt sort of tired reading it somewhat, but yeah. The movie's action scenes are good, and makes you obviously feel like you're on the hero's side. A lot of sly humour, so it's not all blood and "ROAR HEAR ME I AM MAN" HAHHAHA. Oh, and also there's no lack of eyecandy during the movie... sorry babe, you know Dylan O'Brien, Ki-Hong Lee and Thomas Sangster are pretty cute...

I didn't want to put in any spoilers, so this review will be pretty short. I'll give 4.5 out of 5 stars!

To celebrate my best friend's birthday, we decided to head to SEA Aquarium to have some fun! I know it wasn't long since we went to the Trick Eye Museum, but y'know, Sentosa is pretty irresistible. There's this sort of lure that brings teens there, sort of. And tourists, but I digress. Gen said this when she saw the skeleton: HEY THAT LOOKS LIKE MY DAD!

I gave her a very shocked look because I couldn't tell if she meant that her dad was literally dead and a skeleton or just that he tended to sit like that. Her expression in reply to mine was answer enough. HAHAHAHHA

There's Finding Nemo and Dory~~~~ Okay lah but in all seriousness, it is a really fun place. The pictures that you can take are endless, and there are skeletons hanging around now, during the Halloween period! So cool. And that Manta Ray above is really beautiful in the Open Ocean tank, it's called M2. It is fully black and super gorgeous. Gen and I fell in love at first sight when we saw it gliding so gracefully through the water.

The octopus ugly as fuck though. And really fucking huge. The tentacles looked scary as hell. I wonder what in the world would inspire tentacle porn when that thing looks so retardedly wrong? Eurgh okay my mind needs to stop wondering. The touchpool is really cute, we queued up for it. My fav is the starfish that has little bumps on it and they call it the chocolate chip starfish. Adorable leh so kewt hehe.

See? So cute! And there's me and my fiery hair. I don't think I've regretted doing my hair this color even once. I did somewhat regret my blonde phase but I love the vibrant red. It's so nice. Ok on to the next thing! So after we were done, we headed to Hard Rock Cafe to grab a couple of Mojitos before dinner. We wanted drinks so yeah.

I went for the strawberry one. The burn in my stomach after I had that was so delicious, though I wasn't very fond of the burn in my throat when I swallowed the drink. It was still good! And then after that we headed to Din Tai Fung to have dinner! OH MY GOD XIAO LONG BAOS @_@ but yeah Gen and I had 10 XLBs each cause we were so fucking hungry HAHAHAHA

YUMMYYYYYY. After that we decided to take a walk around RWS to digest a bit and coincidentally, we were there on the FIRST day of Halloween Horror Nights 4! There were people everywhere, some facepainted really scarily. There was this woman that looked like a crazy nurse or something and we asked her for a photo - in which she replied creepily, "Sure." Brrh, she scary.

Yeah, this is her. And also the pillar looks really cool at night. OH and before we took a picture with the lady, we walked past this bunch of small boys (probably like 12, idk) who wanted to take a picture or something. So the guy threw his lightstick to his friend (who failed to catch it) and then I said, "Noob," out loud as I was passing by. Oh my god my subconscious has FAILED ME it was supposed to stay inside my head :c

I was like SHIT then hurried off and then Gen told me that the boy looked at me with a rather hurt and confused look on his face. Oops. But it's true, noobs. :D I'm planning to go for HHN4 with a few friends soon, will write a post on it once I've gone for it, promise!

Review 2: Annabelle.

This movie has instilled in me a fear of dolls. Fuck you, barbie. No, really. The storyline is really scary and starts off pretty sweet with a scene at a church (after the entrance scene) but you know, there's this sinister feel to the movie. (OH MY GOD IM SO SCARED THINKING OF IT, I THOUGHT I JUST HEARD SOMETHING BUT IT'S JUST MY IMAGINATION IM TERRIFIED HELP WHY DID I WATCH IT???)

Gen and I actually wanted to catch The Maze Runner (even though I had watched it already) but apparently the seats were separate. Then we asked for another movie at the same time and all they had was Annabelle. We decided to buy it and the moment we handed the money over, we looked at each other in a "Oh shit, why did we do that?" expression.

And when we got the tickets, we walked away and said "Jesus Christ" at the same time. We went to buy popcorn and the thing was that everytime a scary scene was coming, I had to close the popcorn box in fear of jumping and making popcorn fly everywhere. :| I also watched 3/4 of the movie from behind the stupid box.

I also screamed, twice. I jumped and screamed and I think the guy beside me with his gf was pretty terrified too but yeah, he's a man. Men don't get scared of these you know? Okay that's bullshit but whatever. Who the heck buys his PREGNANT wife such a mother fucking terrible looking doll? I know that the doll wasn't possessed originally but fuck, the doll is pretty scary looking.

The baby was pretty cute though, and the amount of jump scares or pop ups scared the living daylights out of me. I made the sign of the cross like 5 times and prayed to God to ask him to help me not to pee my fucking pants. I think my screams and jumps made Gen a little less scared and more amused so that she was distracted from the movie.

Please watch this movie with your boyfriend or a friend who is braver than you, if you know you can't take horror well.

Review: 3.5/5 stars bc horror flick with cheesy scenes but still scary as fuck.

How have you been spending your days? I know that my JC friends have just finished their promos not long ago - I wish you good luck for your results! My holidays are coming to an end and I'm so terribly sad. But the good thing is that Natasha is back from China and I've missed her so much! Can't wait to see her for HHN4, and Jiayi too.

By the way, I'm scheduled for a Japan trip at the end of the year. I just got a look at my itinerary a few hours ago and I'm already so so so pumped! I'm going to places like Mt Fuji, the Osaka Palace and the Nissin Cup Noodle Museum! I promise to blog about the trip too.

I just hope that my DSLR won't get fucked up by the cold. I've heard of lenses and gears freezing up in cold places and oh god, please no. This DSLR is my baby (although admittedly I've abandoned it for quite a while already) but iPhone pictures will never be able to compare to the quality of DSLR ones. I'll be blogging when I get back (close to Christmas) so yep!

School is starting and honestly I don't really feel ready for it because I'm separated from E45D and... that doesn't sit too well with me. I'll miss bullshitting with them in class all the time, but the good thing is that we won't be too far apart so we can still grab meals together. There's also Office Comm, who could forget about that?

Alright, I've been talking a lil too much. Thanks for reading this post and being interested in my life, which is sort of boring. Apart from these events, all I've been doing is eat, sleep, watch Worlds, watch Drama, and repeat again. I sure hope school will put some motivation into me again - I've gained a lot of weight during the holidays. Gym, I'm coming for you!
